I’ve never been one for the ever-popular phone selfie. I’m rather self conscious about my appearance (who isn’t?) so I’ve always shied away from doing self portraits. Last night, stuck for things to draw, I decided to go for it.
This is done with straight up pen so I had to do a lot of redrawing as I went along. I made my face too long overall (hence why I have a rather dramatic neck shadow) and my hat was way too tall so I worked a bit of background there to cover it up. Just an example of working through your problems. Overall I’m pretty pleased, I haven’t done any proper portraits for a long time and this actually has somewhat of a likeness.
Good morning
Excellent work!
Live with the line and let it grow
Well done

LOL about the dramatic neck shadow – could also be a scarf. You like like a pretty and nice person, Mel. Good selfie!

This is great, I haven’t been brave enough yet to do a selfie, maybe one day soon. Karen

It is such a great exercise Karen, and if you keep doing it over time you’ll really see an improvement 🙂
