I’ve been trying to use watercolours in my “everyday” sketchbook pages and feel like I’m finally getting to know and understand how they mix and the look I’m wanting. It is so fun to splash a bit of colour on the page. These were all done in with Daniel Smith paints, and I hope to write a post about them soon. Short story is I am in love!
Can’t wait for your bread to cool? Do a sketch of it while you wait!
Super quick sketch while my eggs were cooking in the pan this morning.
Obligatory playground shoe sketch, these are my husband’s boots.
This was a negative painting exercise. I really have a thing about shoes I guess? And splatter, can’t get enough of that splatter.
Have you done any sketchbook pages this weekend? Sending a bit of warm spring sunshine to all of you!
Do you do Sketchbook Skool?

I did do the Beginnings semester of Sketchbook Skool sometime last year but was more of an armchair sketcher at the time 😉

Hi. So I just stumbled upon your blog and I had to tell you how much I really liked these watercolor sketches that you do!
They’re very creatively inspiring for someone like me, who’s new and baffled in the world of art 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind comments! I saw on your blog that you are planning on doing a 365 drawing challenge, I so highly recommend it. I hope you really enjoy it, you’ll make a lot of progress for sure. I’ve only started mine this year and it’s been great so far.

Which one(s) have you taken Barry? I am very tempted to take the “Seeing” course when it starts up next semester. A lot of my favourite sketchbook artists in that one.

Thank you, that was definitely my favourite too 🙂

Great sketches, I like how loose they are. I am still trying to bond with watercolours, more practise I believe is required. I am looking forward to the new term of sketchbook Skool. Karen

I’ve bought some cheaper watercolour paper and have done lots of “play” on it just to get used to it. Which class will you be taking next semester (do you know when it starts?) I think I’d like to take “Seeing”.

Not sure, I have done beginnings and story telling, but may try their new one. I am not very good at doing all the exercises but really enjoy the classes and as we have unlimited access, I go back and do different bits. Karen

I just took a look at my Beginnings course again this morning, think I’d get more out of it now. I’m going to try my best to keep up with the assignments this time.

Actually, I have taken all. A friend of mine gifts them to me. Some lots of fun, some hard work.
See was particularly good.

I really love the eggs & bread. I’m going to have to look into those watercolors you have – after I finish cooking up some eggs & toast…
